Joint Interest Billing (JIB) Accountant
Location: Denver Tech Center
Reports To: Controller/VP of Accounting
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced JIB Accountant to join our upstream oil & gas team. This role will be responsible for managing the Joint Interest Billing (JIB) close process. The ideal candidate will have strong upstream oil & gas accounting experience, with specific expertise in Joint Interest Billing (JIB) and capital/operating expenditure analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute monthly Joint Interest Billing (JIB) close process.
- Review and process JIB invoices for upload to EnergyLink.
- Update and maintain allocation groups and cost centers.
- Prepare monthly overhead allocations and update rates.
- Oversee, process and reconcile billings from outside operators.
- Address and resolve discrepancies in JIB statements with external partners.
- Oversee the creation, tracking, and reporting of Authorizations for Expenditure (AFEs).
- Provide variance analysis between budgeted and actual expenditures.
- Develop and record monthly Lease Operating Expense and Capital accruals.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to leadership for decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
- Assist in AP process as needed.
- Manage and lead special projects, providing subject-matter expertise in JIB accounting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in upstream oil & gas, with a strong focus on JIB and operational accounting.
- Solid understanding of oil & gas accounting principles, including successful history with JIB, AFEs and accruals.
- Hands-on experience with oil & gas accounting software and systems (e.g., BOLO, EnergyLink).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate across functions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Lead Lease Operator
Department: Operations
Location: New Raymer, CO
Report: Production Superintendent
Key Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the leading of a team of lease operators in daily production of oil and gas operations. This individual will aid and lead the way in the maintenance of the production rate throughout the system, perform operational checks, and ensure that safety devices are operational. Additionally, the Lead Lease Operator will identify problems with equipment; prepare documentation / production reports on a periodic basis and assist in the repair of equipment. Also responsible for ensuring safe and environmentally sound operations.
Essential Duties/Functions:
- Viewed as the most advanced operator, acts as a lead, and can handle the most complex of duties with very limited supervision
- Work closely with the Production Supervisor with the oversight and direction of the team and their initiatives
- In charge of training and aiding lease operators in their development
- Act as a mentor/leader in assisting Lease Operators in more complex situations
- Responsible for safety, equipment, inspections, and assistance in overall production operations for a designated area
- Monitor progress of minor subsurface well maintenance, limited to non-BOPE jobs
- Collaborate with Superintendent, Foreman, Engineer, and Well Tech to optimize all artificial lift to maximize production
- Play a key role in the training of Lease Operators in the day-to-day operations and upkeep of production equipment
- Develop training materials for Lease Operators
- Analyze and solve production related problems
- Supervise contract work and complete related reports
- Coordinate with maintenance team for all work and repairs on assigned facilities
- Maintain regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance in combination with Regulatory and Maintenance Dept.
- Assist field employees in daily operations and substitutes for other employees in their absence
- Maintain all company equipment, including but not limited to, computers, vehicles, and testing or regulatory equipment
- Possess the right and obligation to stop work if unsafe conditions exist or are suspected
- Maintain positive relationship with Local, State, and Federal representatives and surface owners
